Today

Nothing really significant happened today. We are planning to go look at some car seats before we take the long car ride to virginia. Can't really afford to spend much. Will see what we can get for the money we can afford.
We had Joyce come out and clean our yard today. My, oh my! The amount of work this yard needs, is not even funny. I told her our budget ( I HAVE to work with one) and asked her to come out maybe in early August to plant some fall foliage for us. She has given us a great hourly rate and hopefully this will work out.
Sheila and Scott have agreed to keep Janab for us while we are on vacation. That is going to be such a BIG help.
The cats will have to rely on their automatic feeder. I hope they make it ok. I am going to be worried about them.
All else is well. I have to give ma a link to this blog so she can read daily updates.

In church today

We went to church as always. Kids went to their sunday school class. After the service was over we went to pick the kids up...the usual hugs and kisses went all around, etc. As we were waiting for the kids to come out after all that meet and greet, their sunday school teacher comes up to us and says, " we were asking the kids a question and Diya raises her hand and says, ' I can read that, I am intelligent.'" I didn't know whether to lower my head in embarrassment or to hold my head up high, given my daughter's self-confidence!
I absolutely am in love with my babies. I just wish time did not fly by as quickly as it does. We are planning our trip to Virginia next week. Now I can hold that over their heads if/when they don't behave themselves. Mean? I know!
We are currently in the process of gutting out our downstairs bathroom! Can't wait to see the finished product. Maybe we'll put up some before and after pictures. Hubby is pretty much taking it on as a DIY project. I will help out, only after this month, though. Too bogged down by prep work to help out.

My first post

This is my very first post. I got this idea off somebody else on the Internet (someone else's blog). I have not kept a true journal and just wanted to record different things that the kids do on an everyday basis. Nothing too mindblowing, just a record of the everyday kid events.
I will also be posting some pictures every now and then. I just hope I can maintain this, if nothing else.
Diya is going to first grade in September. I cannot believe how time flies. I still remember her being this underweight little newborn, barely fitting into her carseat. She is still tiny (5th percentile for weight and 10th for height), but she is strong.
Avi is going to pre-school in September. I don't know how he will be in school. I think he is more of a follower than a leader and that worries me a little bit, but we'll see. I guess I'll just have to keep a close eye on my babies.
