Avi's first day of school
Today was Avi's first day of pre-school. I cannot believe how incredibly excited he was. I am sure he's been waiting to go to school, since he has now seen Diya doing it for 3 years. I can only imagine his pent-up excitement to be able to finally relate to his sister and her experiences and be able to share some of his exciting stories.
He's been at the receiving end of all her friends, her school lunches, etc. Now he gets to do it. He can feel grown-up in his own right.
I guess that's why he couldn't wait to get to school today. It did tug at my heart a little bit to see my "baby" let go of my arm and walk into his class with that confidence and familiarity that I did not think could happen. The good thing is that Ms. Stacey is his teacher and so he had a familiar face to see when he got there. "Hi! Ms. Stacy!" and walked right in!
Surprisingly, I did not cry either. Like I said my heart has been palpitating every so often, just thinking about both my babies in school!
I guess I should let them spread their wings and watch them grow gracefully.
Lord, bless my babies. Let them grow closer to you as they grow up...
